Personalize SMS & Email Messages To Include Community Specific Videos, Images, Links or Other Kinds of Content Using Further's Custom Placeholders

  • Updated

Multiple communities can be part of the same campaign. If you need to add a URL or value to campaign messages that must differ for each community, you can create a community-specific placeholder to use in your messages. This is helpful if you want to include a link to the photo gallery of each community in a message, include a specific phone number to call, etc.

First, you will need to locate your campaign. Then you will create a placeholder that allows you to set different URLs or values based on the community sending the campaign message.

In this article, we’ll walk you through setting up community-specific URL or value placeholders.

Note: This feature is only manageable by Corporate users.

Locate a Campaign

Select Messaging in the left menu.

Look for the desired campaign and click to open.

Click Add Message at the bottom or click one of the existing messages.

Add a Custom URL or Value Placeholder

In the Placeholders section, click + Add placeholder

In the new window, enter the name you want this new placeholder to be called in the Placeholder Name field. Make the name memorable and unique, as it will appear in the Placeholders section.

Below is a list of all the communities associated with the selected campaign. To the right of the community name is the field where you can enter the desired URL or value. Place the appropriate URL or value for each community.

When you click the new placeholder in a message, the URL or value that fills will depend on what community the message is for.

Click Save when you’re done.

You can now use the new placeholder like any other in your messages.

To edit a community-specific placeholder, click the pencil icon to the right.

The edit window will open. Make the desired changes and click Save

To remove the placeholder from the campaign placeholder options, click Delete Placeholder at the bottom of the edit screen.

Send Preview Message

If you would like to see a preview of your email, you can do so right in the editor.

In the lower right-hand corner click Send preview message.  A pop-up woll open.

Ih the pop-up, select the community you would like to create the preview for and add the email address you would like to send the preview to.

Click Send.

Check your inbox for the message!
