Opt Out / In of Messaging

  • Updated

Automated outreach provides a seemless way for you to nurture leads into promising prospects. Further's system makes sure you stay in contact with a lead without bombarding them with repeat messages. When a prospect responds to a Further SMS in any way, they are automatically removed from future automated outreach but will still show as available for conversations via that channel.

Note: If you are a Further community member who would like to manually remove a prospect from messaging, see the article here for help.

In this article, we’ll go over how a prospect can indicate they no longer want to receive any SMS messages from Further.

How Prospects Can Opt Out

If a prospect would like to stop receiving SMS messages from Further, they can easily unsubscribe. A prospect can simply reply to an SMS message with one of the following options:

  • Stop
  • Stopall
  • Unsubscribe
  • Cancel
  • End
  • Quit

A prospect sending any of these messages will prevent any future SMS communication from Further to that number whether it be from an automated campaign or a direct SMS from a community member.

When you look at a prospect’s conversation you will be able to see if they have opted out of SMS or email messages. This allows you to continue the conversation in a channel approved by the prospect.

How Prospects Can Opt Back In

If a prospect accidentally opts out of messaging, they can always opt back in.  At the moment they opt out, they will receive a message that states, "You have successfully been unsubscribed.  You will not receive any more messages from this number.  Reply START to resubscribe".

Once they reply with START, they will receive the message below and be opted back in for messaging.
