Customize the Phone Input Warning in Your Further Tools

  • Updated

When engaging in a conversation via the Virtual Sales Assistant (VSA) or Conversational Webform (CW), a user will be asked for their phone number. By default, a warning is placed under the phone number field with the following text:

By entering your phone, you agree to {community_name} contacting you via SMS/email in response to inquiries. Message frequency varies and message and data may apply. Text HELP for help. Text STOP to unsubscribe. Links to Privacy Policy and Terms.

You can leave this default warning or create a custom warning under the field. In this article, we’ll go over how to set the phone input warning.

Note: Only Corporate users can adjust the phone warning message.

Set Phone Input Warning

Click Setting in the left menu.

Click Web Assistant in the Further Products submenu

Once inside the Web Assistant menu, click on Phone Input Warning.

Use the search bar at the top to quickly find a community.

To select multiple communities, click the checklist icon in the top left. Then, use the checkboxes to make selections.

When you’re ready click Edit or Edit Multiple at the top.

Note: The new window will look slightly different when editing multiples, but the two options will remain the same.

A new window will open. Here, you can select Custom or Default.

  • Custom: You can enter a custom warning under the phone input field in your VSA and CW. Enter the message in the Custom message field precisely as you would like it to appear. This will replace the default warning.

You can use markdown to include links and format the text to make your message stand out.

Adding a link would look something like this:  [Text you want to be shown](this is where actual link is placed/) so [Privacy Policy](https://yourcommunity.com/privacy-policy/)

Note: Links can be absolute or relative. An absolute link provides the complete location information of your site, while a relative link only contains the location following your domain. An absolute link would be www.yourcommunity.com/privacy-policy, while a relative link would be /privacy-policy

For more information on markdown, see the article here

  • Default: The default warning will appear in your VSA and CW as shown above.

When you’re done, click Save and Publish to apply your changes.
