A campaign/tracking number can serve several purposes in marketing and communication strategies:
Tracking and Analytics: This allows businesses to track the effectiveness of specific marketing campaigns. By assigning a unique number to each campaign, they can analyze metrics such as call volume, conversion rates, and customer demographics associated with that particular campaign.
Segmentation: This enables businesses to segment their customer base based on the source of their inquiries or responses. This segmentation can help tailor marketing messages and offers to different audience segments based on their interests and preferences.
Performance Evaluation: By comparing the performance of different campaign numbers, businesses can evaluate the relative success of various marketing initiatives. This evaluation can inform future marketing strategies and budget allocations.
Call Routing: Campaign numbers can route incoming calls to specific organizational departments or teams. For example, calls to a campaign number featured in a product promotion might be routed directly to the sales team handling that product.
In this article, we'll cover how to generate campaign/tracking numbers and test them to ensure their effectiveness.
Note: Only Corporate users can activate campaign/tracking numbers.
Note: If your community is not using Further's Phone Assistant, any campaign/tracking numbers created will not show data in your Further dashboard. |
Generate Campaign/Tracking Numbers
Log in to the Dashboard and click Settings in the left menu.
Under the Further Products submenu, select Phone Assistant.
Use the search bar at the top right to locate the desired community.
Click anywhere on the community bar between the name and On/Off.
In the new window, if it has not already been filled in with an area code, add the Area Code in which you want to purchase the phone numbers.
Note: Further utilizes an outside vendor for phone number services, and occasionally, phone numbers are not available in the area code requested. Typically, numbers in these area codes will become available within a day or two, so you will need to retry your search. Once an area code has been added to the Area Code field, it is locked in.
Check the box for Campaign phone numbers.
Underneath the Campaign numbers, click Add another purpose.
Fill out the relevant information, select how many phone numbers you need, and then click Save to add the new numbers.
Look for the community, at first you will see a Synching phone data status.
When it's done the status will show as On.
Test Campaign/Tracking Numbers
Once you have generated the campaign/tracking numbers, it's time to test them. The easiest way to test your new numbers is to call them to create a test lead and check that the lead correctly identifies the campaign number.
In the example below, the number for Test Demo will be called.
After calling, select All Conversations in the left menu.
Click the Channel dropdown and select Conversational IVR. Click Apply.
You should see the lead your call created. Review the Source column and make sure the name matches. For our example, the Source should be Test Demo.
