Showcase Your Community by Adding Videos to Your Virtual Sales Assistant

  • Updated

It is important to present your community in the best way possible to prospects and showing the videos of everything that they can expect is a great way to do that.

Further tools offer an easy way to integrate videos, right in your Virtual Sales Assistant (VSA). We allow adding flows in your VSA which will either show your community’s videos right in the VSA or take the prospect to your dedicated webpage where you can display the videos you want.

In this article, we’ll cover adding both flows to your VSA

Note

Display Community Videos in Your VSA

To add videos to your community for use in the VSA chats, you need to locate the community profile. You can find information on locating community profiles in the article here.

Make sure you select the correct community before moving forward.

Once you’ve opened the community profile, select the Videos subtab. Then, to upload a video click Add New in the Videos field.

If you have a separate webpage you would prefer users visit in order to see videos of your community, you can set up a fallback URL. Enter the webpage URL for a video gallery into the Videos Fallback URL field to set this up.

Note: Videos uploaded will display by default, the fallback URL will only display if there are no uploaded videos.

To remove an uploaded video, hover over the video clip and click the trashcan icon in the top right.

When you’re done click Save in the top right.

Now, you need to find and open the chat you want to add videos to. For more information on how to find the correct chat for your community, see the article here.

Once you’ve opened the appropriate chat, click the Dialog Flows subtab.

Click the paper icon in the top right of the first module.

Select Add Option under the existing options.

Click the blue heading and enter a name such as View Videos. Select the Branch into a separate dialog flow option.

Scroll up and save the changes with the green checkmark at the top of the module.

Click the arrow next to the new option and select Add Module underneath.

Select Options in the Type dropdown and then Videos in the Role dropdown. Click the green checkmark to save your changes.

If you want a visitor to continue with the chat, you should also use the Add Option button to let them navigate through more of the chat modules.

For example, you may want users to be able to schedule a tour in the flow. Title the button Schedule a Tour in the blue header and then click Jump to Module. Use the dropdown to enter the module for scheduling a tour and then click the green checkmark at the top to save your changes.

In the example above, you can see the options added to the video section allowing a user to continue with the chat.

To keep your changes, click Save in the top right. In the confirmation window select Save and Publish and Confirm

VSA users will now see an option to view the videos you uploaded to the community profile directly in the chat.

Link to Your Dedicated Videos Webpage

To link prospects to a dedicated video webpage from within your VSA, follow the steps below.

Find and open the chat that you want to add videos to.

Select Link in the Type dropdown. Make a note of the Module # you are working with.

As a best practice, you should add Module 1 as Action under the added module, so the prospects would continue their VSA usage from the first step after viewing the images in the new browser tab.

Click the green checkmark to save your changes.

To keep your changes, click Save in the top right. In the confirmation window select Save and Publish and Confirm

Now click the Related Communities tab and select the appropriate community in the left menu.

Scroll down to the Chat Module Overrides section. Under Module Traits enter the following:

  • Trait Type - Select Link
  • Value - Enter the URL for your community video webpage
  • Module - Enter the module number you were adding the link to

When you’re done click Add Trait. To finalize your changes, click Save in the top right.

In the confirmation window select Save and Publish and Confirm

Now when prospects click to view videos in the VSA they will be directed to the selected URL.
