Test Your Further Tools Without Submitting Leads to Your CRM

  • Updated

When users interact with the Virtual Sales Assistant (VSA) or Conversational Webform (CW) on your website, they are prompted to enter contact information at a certain point in the workflow. That contact information is what triggers a lead being added to a connected CRM from Further

When building flows for your VSA or CW, you may want to test them out first without having a test lead submitted to your CRM.

Note: This requires your VSA or CW to already be running on your site to test.

In this article, we'll go through how to test out the flow of Further tools without submitting a lead to your CRM.

Testing Workflows

Open up your community website. Navigate to the CW or VSA you want to test. Select the options you want to test.

Follow the chat flow as if you were a potential lead until it asks for your first and last name.

You will be asked for your name, phone number, and email address. You have to reply with specific answers to keep your test lead from going to your CRM. Enter the following personal information when prompted:

  • First and Last Name  - test test
  • Phone Number - 0000000000
  • Email Address - test@test.com

Note: It is important to enter the contact details exactly as explained above to keep the lead from being submitted to your CRM.

When you’re done, the lead will be added to the Further dashboard but will be blocked from your CRM.

You can view your test lead by navigating to All Conversations in the left menu. Initially, the conversation will have a status of Ongoing conversations. If you entered the contact details correctly, the status will change to Blocked, meaning it has not been sent to your CRM.

You can verify this in the lead details, by clicking on the lead in All Conversations and checking the Processing tab on the right of the transcript.
